[It takes a while before Kyou says anything. If anyone wants to take notice of how he looks, that grimace that usually plays on his face isn't present. Instead he looks rather serious, and just a little bit sad. But who's to blame him with what he was greeted to when he had gone looking for Kazuma earlier that day.

Finally, he stakes a breath and finally speaks up.]

If anyone knew him or studied under him at the dojo, Shishou is-- [A pause. No, not everyone would know who that was. He clears his throat and tries once more.] Kazuma isn't around anymore. The dojo's still going to be open though. I guess I'll be the one giving the classes now...

[Another pause as he lets that sink in a little. He never thought he'd be in charge of something like this on his own. But he can't let that bother him right now. There were a lot of other things on his mind, after all]

I've never really had to do something like this before either so if there's anyone who wants to help out, just say so. It would be better if you at least know something about martial arts.

If you've got any questions, I'll try to answer them. [Neck rub because this is a lot more awkward than he would like it to be. And with that, he ends the feed.]

[That mental image that projected in his head came out a little weirder than he would've liked. He makes a bit of a face at it, not voicing out exactly what he had imagined to the girl.]

I'm not sure if I should be worried about that.

I-I'm sure Shishou-san would have done okay, Kyou-kun!

Yeah. Maybe if he kept a fire extinguisher by him and knew exactly how to use it.

That was what we were going to do before we got started.

Trying to use an extinguisher? [A curious look.] Don't you know how to?

Oh, I know how to! Mom showed me how when I started to learn how to cook.

Let me guess. You had some fires of your own when you started.

[He laughs a little, obviously teasing the girl.]

A-ahh--[her shoulders slump upon remembering almost burning the apartment down far too many times in the past] Yes. I did... [whimpers]

Should've figured you would have one or two.

[He had been kidding but there was some part of him that expected an answer like that as well. He laughs, pushing aside the thoughts of Kazuma's departure aside for the time being.]

At least you learned how to actually use it.

[She looks up at him, heaving a sigh of relief when she heard him laugh; smiling a tiny smile.]

Mom was... very proud of me. The next time I used the kitchen, I didn't burn anything at all.

And, I was able to cook for the both of us for the first time. It made me really happy that I could do that for her.

[A sad smile makes its way onto his face. There was a small mix of guilt and jealousy in that smile but he tried his damnedest to hide it.]

You're lucky you got to do things like that with your mom. Guess that's why you're good at cooking, huh?

Yes. That's why... [Tohru trails off upon seeing the change in his expression. She places her hand on top of his, giving it a squeeze.]

Kyou-kun?

[The gesture was comforting at first. But as soon as his gaze moves from her hand to her face, he turned away, unable look her in the eye. He immediately pulls his hand away from hers.]

Don't worry about it. It's nothing.

[Her hand suddenly felt empty and cold. She takes it back, resting it on her lap.]

If you're sure, Kyou-kun. I won't ask about it again.

[Kyou doesn't even realize her expression change at what he had done. Instead he continued with his own musing, his eyes still looking at anything else but Tohru.]

I'm sure. Guess Shishou leaving like that just got to me more than I thought. I'll be fine.

But it's understandable that you feel that way. Shishou-san... is very important to you.

[There was so much truth in what Tohru said but all he does to acknowledge it was a small nod.]

As long as he doesn't try burning the dojo back home, I guess he'll be okay too.

[nervous chuckle. he's really worried about that, huh?]

U-um, anyway! I was going to go out to buy some groceries. If it's not any trouble, would you like to go with me, Kyou-kun?

...Yeah. I'll go with you.

[What better way to get his mind off things, right?]
