Kyou had felt that he was being followed for a while now but he made no move to turn around. For a while, he had suspected that it was simply his imagination, that his mind was playing tricks on him. He continued to fool himself with that thought until he heard a small meow from behind him.

He turned sharply to find a small, white cat staring at him. It stayed still for a moment or two before letting out another content meow.

The boy's brows furrowed. "Quit following me," he told it, spinning on his heel and turning his back on it. Despite his warning, he could still its soft paws padding against the ground behind him. He let out a sigh, certain that nothing would happen even if he called it's attention once more.

There was another meow, but he didn't mind it. It wasn't worth the effort. However, when a different meow followed the first, he turned once more only to find four cats following his trail now. He could feel a headache coming along as the number of cats slowly increased, some peeking out from behind trashcans, others appearing on fences that lined the street. Kyou drove the heel of his palm against his forehead, willing himself to keep calm. It had been a while since something like this had happened.

It was then and there that he decided that making his way back to Shigure's house was his first priority. His stride became brisk and he didn't even to bother looking back as the sound of the meowing grew louder. It had only been a little further, and he could practically see the house now. Despite that, the meows only grew louder.

Suddenly, he pushed hard against the ground, running the rest of the way home. If he could lose even some of the cats, he'd be more than grateful. He reached for the door and slid it open, thankful that he had already reached his goal.

A smirk played on his features before he slammed the door hard, panting to catch his breath. He outsmarted them all right. Then he heard a chuckle and turned to see his cousin standing behind him. Shigure kept a hand close to his mouth as if trying to stifle his laughter. In Kyou's opinion, he wasn't doing a very good job. "Problems with the ladies, Kyou-kun?"

"SHUT UP!"

Kyou just grunted, tossing the Dreamberry back on his bedside table and turning to face the other way in his bed. If there was one thing he could be grateful for in Somarium, he was glad there weren't as many cats around.
